California is a beautiful place - might be an understatement! It has something to offer for everyone. North or south along the coast, innumerable number of times, there is always something fresh and new to enjoy! Having a long coastline, the state houses a considerable number of light houses built overs the years. One such beauty is the Point Reyes national seashore. It sounded to be a normal light house initially, but trust me, it is "one of its kind"! It challenges one to go down and see its history! Walking down the parking lot for about 1/2 a mile and climbing down a narrow and steep 309 steps will take us to the small tiny light house. The docents are so kind and narrate the history behind the light house and the Fresnel lens. Just out of the building and you would see yourself standing amidst the pacific ocean. If one is lucky, whales would show up and wave a hi! Climbing back up is a task in itself, one has to take breaks and climb slowly to get to the top. But overall an experience to be cherished and not missed!
